After an initial search on the internet for inspiration, I settled on a c shape or my toothbrush holder. I recorded my brainstorm in the research page captured below.
I made the first sketch and created the c shaped base. Then I cut out sections of the sides and holes from the toothbrushes to fit in.
The I used MakerBot to covert the 3D shape to a printable file for the 3D Printer, changing the orientation of the shape and the size.
Then I took it to the printer and started the printing process.
Eleven hours later....
In this rotation I learned a lot more about printing 3D shapes that are more complicated. I greatly enjoyed creating the 3D image and learning how to most effective complete my design according to my ideas. I learned more about the simplicity of using these printers and of meeting design criteria. My favorite part was learning to make a completely new design with inspiration from other people's work. I learned how to be a more effective designer.
